Senator Powell launches series of Town Hall meetings in early January

Newly elected Senator wants to meet, hear concerns of District 30 constituents

West Palm Beach —

In an effort to meet and hear the concerns of the residents, business leaders and other constituents in his newly created Senate District 30 seat, Florida Senator Bobby Powell, Jr., will headline Town Hall meetings in Jupiter, Royal Palm Beach and West Palm Beach in early January.

At each location, the Senator will be joined by at least one elected official who represents each of those areas, either at the municipal or state level. The events will all begin at 6 p.m.

The dates and locations are:

• Royal Palm Beach Cultural Center, 151 Civic Center Way, Royal Palm Beach. January 3, 2017. The Senator will be joined by State Rep. Matt Willhite (District 86).

• Mary V. McDonald Wilson Center (behind Gaines Park), 1501 N. Australian Avenue, West Palm Beach. January 4. State Rep. Al Jacquet (District 88) will join the Senator.

• Jupiter Community Center, 200 Military Trail, Jupiter. January 5. Jupiter Vice-Mayor Ilan Kaufer will also attend.

“It is important to me that constituents across District 30 have an opportunity to meet me—and for me to meet them,” Sen. Powell said. “There’s much to share and to discuss. I look forward to getting to know this District even better.”

Every one of Florida’s 40 Senate districts were re-drawn by court order last year; 20 of the Senators, like Sen. Powell, were newly elected in 2016. Sen. Powell previously served two terms in the Florida House of Representatives.
