11  Senators Saunders and Latvala moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 16, between lines 12 and 13,
15  
16  insert:  
17         Section 6.  The Legislature recognizes that the
18  Preservation 2000 program has provided incalcuable benefits to
19  the citizens of Florida by funding the acquisition and
20  protection of more than one million acres of land for
21  conservation and recreation purposes. The Preservation 2000
22  Program has helped insure present and future generations
23  access to important open spaces and recreation and
24  conservation lands. It is therefore the intent of the
25  Legislature that any funds from the Preservation 2000 Trust
26  Fund redirected to Everglades restoration efforts by the 2001
27  Legislature due to current budgeting constraints be restored
28  by the General Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2002-2003 to
29  the Preservation 2000 Trust Fund.
