11 The Committee on Ways and Means (Campbell) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 31, between lines 22 and 23,
16
17 insert:
18 Section 3. An annual fee of $150 per slot machine is
19 hereby imposed upon each slot machine approved for use at any
20 eligible facility as defined in section 551.102, Florida
21 Statutes, which is within 1 mile of any neighboring
22 municipality. A "neighboring municipality" is defined as a
23 municipality that does not have an eligible facility but has
24 more than two facilities located within 1 mile of its
25 municipal borders. Revenue from the fees imposed by this
26 section must be used by the neighboring municipality to fund
27 the adverse public health, safety, and welfare and public
28 works and traffic impacts that will be caused by the
29 implementation of Section 23, Article X of the State
30 Constitution and that will occur as a direct result of slot
31 machine operation. The annual fee must be remitted to the

1 Department of Business and Professional Regulation to be
2 deposited into the Slot Machine Administrative Trust Fund and
3 distributed by the department to any neighboring municipality.
4 The fee must be remitted by February 1 of each year based on
5 the number of slot machines approved as of January 1.

12 On page 2, line 13, after the semicolon,

14 insert:
15 imposing an annual fee on certain slot
16 machines; providing for the use of the revenue
17 generated by the collection of the annual fee;
18 providing that the annual fee be remitted to
19 the department to be deposited in the Slot
20 Machine Administrative Trust Fund and
21 distributed by the department;
