11 The Committee on Judiciary (Campbell) recommended the
12 following amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 On page 23, between lines 14 and 15,

17 insert:
18 Section 2. An annual fee of $150 per slot machine is
19 imposed upon each slot machine approved for use at any
20 eligible facility as defined in section 551.102, Florida
21 Statutes, which is within 2 miles of any neighboring
22 municipality. A "neighboring municipality" is a municipality
23 that does not have an eligible facility but has two facilities
24 located within 2 miles of its municipal borders and is the
25 municipality with the largest population in the county.
26 Revenue from the fees imposed by this section must be used by
27 the neighboring municipality to fund the adverse public
28 health, safety, and welfare and public works and traffic
29 impacts that will be caused by the implementation of Section
30 23, Article X of the State Constitution and that will occur as
31 a direct result of slot machine operation. The annual fee must

1 be remitted to the Department of Business and Professional
2 Regulation to be deposited into the Slot Machine
3 Administrative Trust Fund and distributed by the department to
4 any neighboring municipality. The fee must be remitted by
5 February 1 of each year based on the number of slot machines
6 approved as of January 1.

13 On page 1, line 27, after the semicolon,

15 insert:
16 imposing an annual fee on certain slot
17 machines; providing for the use of the revenue
18 generated by the collection of the annual fee;
19 providing that the annual fee be remitted to
20 the department to be deposited in the Slot
21 Machine Administrative Trust Fund and
22 distributed by the department;
