11  The Committee on Transportation (Bennett) recommended the
12  following amendment:

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 2 line 15, through page 3 line 10, delete those
16  lines
17  
18  and insert:
19         (b)  There may be up to four business entity sponsors
20  per school bus. Sponsorships or cosponsorships by individuals
21  shall be as provided by district school board policy.
22         (2)(a)  Upon request by the sponsor, the district
23  school board shall place signage on the exterior rear, lower
24  quarter panels of the school bus acknowledging the sponsor
25  and, if the sponsor is a business entity, bearing the logo of
26  the business entity. However, no sponsor shall be required to
27  have his or her name or the name of the business entity placed
28  on the school bus.
29         (b)  The acknowledgment shall bear the wording "Safety
30  belts sponsored by" followed by the name of the sponsor.
31         (c)  The design and size of the signage shall be as

Florida Senate - 2005 COMMITTEE AMENDMENT Bill No. SB 2134 Barcode 455396 1 prescribed by local school board policy. 2 (3) The school bus must be equipped with a seat belt 3 assembly that meets the requirements for type 2 seat belt 4 assemblies established under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety 5 Standard No. 209, 49 C.F.R. s. 571.209, or with any other 6 pelvic and upper torso restraint system approved by the 7 Federal Government in a number sufficient to allow each 8 student who is being transported to use a separate pelvic and 9 upper torso restraint system. 10 (4) District school board policy under this section 11 shall provide for sponsorship of the seat belt assembly 12 installation on new purchases of school buses. 13 14 15 ================ T I T L E A M E N D M E N T =============== 16 And the title is amended as follows: 17 On page 1, lines 11 through 13, delete those lines 18 19 and insert: 20 sponsorship; providing for design and size of 21 the signage by local school board policy; 22 limiting liability of 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 2 7:35 PM 03/28/05 s2134.tr21.123
