  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Florida State Employees'

  3         Charitable Campaign; amending s. 110.181, F.S.;

  4         revising the manner in which certain

  5         undesignated funds are distributed to

  6         participating charities; distributing the funds

  7         proportionately to such charities based upon

  8         their percentage of designations in each fiscal

  9         agent area, providing an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12  

13         Section 1.  Paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of section

14  110.181, Florida Statutes, is amended, and paragraph (e) is

15  added to that subsection, to read:

16         110.181  Florida State Employees' Charitable

17  Campaign.--

18         (2)  SELECTION OF FISCAL AGENTS; COST.--

19         (d)  A local steering committee shall be established in

20  each fiscal agent area to assist in conducting the campaign

21  and to direct the distribution of undesignated funds. The

22  committee shall be composed of state employees selected by the

23  fiscal agent.

24         (e)  The distribution of undesignated funds in each

25  local fiscal agent area shall be shared proportionately by the

26  participating charitable organizations, based upon their

27  percentage of designations in each fiscal agent area. The

28  payment of shares of undesignated funds to each charity shall

29  be made in the same manner as the designations.

30         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2006.
