11  The Committee on Health Regulation (Peaden) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         Delete everything after the enacting clause
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 1.  The Department of Health shall compile data
19  on the frequency and usage of electroconvulsive therapy and
20  psychosurgery procedures on children under 18 years of age in
21  this state. The data shall include the severity of the illness
22  requiring these procedures, any adverse events resulting from
23  the procedures, the efficacy of the procedures, the number of
24  these procedures performed over a 3-year period in this state,
25  the age of the children, and the informed consent process of
26  each procedure. The department shall report this data to the
27  President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of
28  Representatives.
29         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.

 6                      A bill to be entitled
 7         An act relating to electroconvulsive therapy
 8         and psychosurgical procedures; requiring the
 9         Department of Health to compile data on the
10         frequency and usage of electroconvulsive
11         therapy and psychosurgery procedures on
12         children; providing criteria for the data;
13         requiring the department to report the data to
14         the Legislature; providing an effective date.
