       The Policy and Steering Committee on Ways and Means (Deutch)
       recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Substitute for Amendment (390814) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Delete lines 51 - 59
    5  and insert:
    6         (6)In vaccinating his or her child, a parent, legal
    7  guardian, or other authorized person, in consultation with his
    8  or her pediatrician, has the right to choose an alternative
    9  immunization schedule to the immunization schedule recommended
   10  by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, if the child:
   11         (a)Completes current state-required immunizations before
   12  any school or child care entrance, as applicable; or
   13         (b)Completes required immunizations by the latest
   14  recommended date under the immunization schedule recommended by
   15  the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in effect at the
   16  time of school or child care entrance, as applicable.
   17         (7)A parent, legal guardian, or other authorized person
   18  must adhere to the immunization schedule required by 42 C.F.R.
   19  1396s if the child is participating in the Vaccines for Children
   20  Program administered by the Department of Health.
   21         (8)A licensed health care practitioner is not required to
   22  adhere to an immunization schedule that he or she believes does
   23  not comply with the proper medical standard of care.
   24         (9)Before administration of a vaccine for an immunization

   27         And the title is amended as follows:
   28         Delete lines 11 - 12
   29  and insert:
   30         an alternative immunization schedule under certain
   31         conditions; providing exceptions; requiring licensed
   32         health care providers
