3     Amendment (with title amendment)
4     Remove lines 1465-1473 and insert:
5     (b)  The supervisor shall also designate any city hall as
6an early voting site. The supervisor may also designate any
7permanent public library facility or any polling place to be
8used on election day as an early voting site. In any general
9election in which a candidate for President of the United States
10appears on the ballot, the supervisor of elections shall
11designate at least one early voting site for every 40,000
12registered voters within the county. In any general election in
13which a candidate for President of the United States does not
14appear on the ballot, the supervisor shall designate at least
15one early voting site for every 80,000 registered voters within
16the county. To the extent practicable, the designated sites must
17be geographically located so as to provide all voters in the
18county an equal opportunity to cast a ballot The supervisor may
19also designate any city hall or permanent public library
20facility as early voting sites; however, if so designated, the
21sites must be geographically located so as to provide all voters
22in the county an equal opportunity to cast a ballot, insofar as
23is practicable. The results or tabulation of votes cast during
24early voting may not be made before the close of the polls on
25election day. Results shall be reported by precinct.
