8 | Family Services to adopt rules and maintain a list of |
9 | approved alarm systems; providing an effective date. |

11 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
12 |
|
13 | Section 1. This act may be cited as the "Haile Brockington |
14 | Act." |
15 | Section 2. Subsection (10) of section 402.305, Florida |
16 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
17 | 402.305 Licensing standards; child care facilities.- |
18 | (10) TRANSPORTATION SAFETY.- |
19 | (a) Minimum standards shall include requirements for child |
20 | restraints or seat belts in vehicles used by child care |
21 | facilities and large family child care homes to transport |
22 | children, requirements for annual inspections of the vehicles, |
23 | limitations on the number of children in the vehicles, and |
24 | accountability for children being transported. |
25 | (b)1. On or after January 1, 2012, such vehicles must be |
26 | equipped with an alarm system approved by the department which |
27 | prompts the driver to inspect the vehicle for children before |
28 | exiting such vehicle. |
29 | 2. The department shall adopt rules to administer this |
30 | paragraph and shall maintain a list of alarm manufacturers and |
31 | alarm systems that are approved to be installed in such |
32 | vehicles. |
33 | Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011. |
