9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

11 | Section 1. Subsection (4) of section 466.006, Florida |
12 | Statutes, is renumbered as subsection (5), and a new subsection |
13 | (4) is added to that section to read: |
14 | 466.006 Examination of dentists.- |
15 | (4) Notwithstanding subsection (3), an applicant licensed |
16 | to practice dentistry in another state who has maintained such |
17 | license in good standing for at least 3 years may take the |
18 | licensure examinations required in this section to practice |
19 | dentistry in this state. This subsection expires July 1, 2012. |
20 | Section 2. Subsection (12) of section 466.0067, Florida |
21 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
22 | 466.0067 Application for health access dental license.-The |
23 | Legislature finds that there is an important state interest in |
24 | attracting dentists to practice in underserved health access |
25 | settings in this state and further, that allowing out-of-state |
26 | dentists who meet certain criteria to practice in health access |
27 | settings without the supervision of a dentist licensed in this |
28 | state is substantially related to achieving this important state |
29 | interest. Therefore, notwithstanding the requirements of s. |
30 | 466.006, the board shall grant a health access dental license to |
31 | practice dentistry in this state in health access settings as |
32 | defined in s. 466.003(14) to an applicant that: |
33 | (12) Has passed an examination covering the laws and rules |
34 | of the practice of dentistry in this state as described in s. |
35 | 466.006(5)(4)(a). |
36 | Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011. |
