       The Committee on Health Regulation (Garcia) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 3572 - 3573
    4  and insert:
    5  (e) Electronic claims and prior authorization requests.—Plans
    6  shall accept electronic claims that are in compliance with
    7  federal standards and accept electronic prior authorization
    8  requests from prescribers and pharmacists for medication
    9  exceptions to the preferred drug list or formulary. The criteria
   10  for the approval and the reasons for denial of prior
   11  authorization requests shall be made readily available to
   12  prescribers and pharmacists submitting the request.
