1	House Resolution
2	A resolution honoring the Eleventh Judicial Circuit on the
3	occasion of its 100th anniversary.

5	WHEREAS, on May 27, 1911, the Legislature carved from the
6	Seventh Judicial Circuit a new circuit called the Eleventh
7	Judicial Circuit, which became effective on June 10, 1911, and
8	WHEREAS, the newly created Eleventh Judicial Circuit
9	consisted of Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties, with
10	Livingstone Wesley Bethel of Key West presiding as its first
11	circuit court judge, and
12	WHEREAS, the Eleventh Judicial Circuit's jurisdiction today
13	consists of Miami-Dade County and has 123 circuit and county
14	court judges and more than 14,000 attorneys serving a countywide
15	population of over 2.5 million people, and
16	WHEREAS, the Eleventh Judicial Circuit is one of the
17	busiest, most populous, and most prestigious jurisdictions in
18	our state and nation, and
19	WHEREAS, the Eleventh Judicial Circuit proudly celebrates
20	an honorable and distinguished history with its Centennial
21	Anniversary this year, NOW, THEREFORE,

23	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
24	Florida:

26	That the Florida House of Representatives honors the
27	Eleventh Judicial Circuit for its long and dedicated service to
28	the people of Miami-Dade County and to the judiciary of the
29	State of Florida and congratulates the circuit on the occasion
30	of its 100th anniversary.
