       Senator Lynn moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 276 - 293
    4  and insert:
    5  another person from doing so, shall be subject to a fine of
    6  $25,000 for each such occurrence. There must be a conviction for
    7  failure to report before such fine is assessed.
    8         (a) A Florida College System institution subject to a fine
    9  shall be assessed by the State Board of Education.
   10         (b) A state university subject to a fine shall be assessed
   11  by the Board of Governors.
   12         (c) A nonpublic college, university, or school subject to a
   13  fine shall be assessed by the Commission for Independent
   14  Education.
   15         (4) Any Florida College System institution, state
   16  university, or nonpublic college, university, or school, as
   17  defined in s. 1000.21 or s. 1005.02, whose law enforcement
   18  agency fails to report known or suspected child abuse,
   19  abandonment, or neglect committed on the property of the
   20  university, college, or school, or during an event or function
   21  sponsored by the university, college, or school, shall be
   22  subject to a fine of $25,000 for each such occurrence assessed
   23  in the same manner as provided in subsection (3). There must be
   24  a conviction for failure to report before such fine is assessed.
