       The Committee on Budget (Negron) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 221 and 222
    4  insert:
    5         (9) The contractor shall pay to the Department of
    6  Management Services the reasonable and direct costs, certified
    7  by the Department of Management Services and included in the
    8  contract, which are associated with the pursuit or apprehension
    9  of an escapee from a correctional facility and incurred by any
   10  state or local law enforcement agency while involved in the
   11  pursuit or apprehension of an escapee during the 48 hours after
   12  the inmate’s escape.

   15         And the title is amended as follows:
   16         Between lines 44 and 45
   17  insert:
   18         requiring that the contractor pay to the Department of
   19         Management Services the reasonable and direct costs
   20         associated with the pursuit or apprehension of an
   21         escapee from a correctional facility and incurred by
   22         any state or local law enforcement agency while
   23         involved in the pursuit or apprehension of an escapee
   24         during a specified period after the inmate’s escape;
