GENERAL BILL by Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human Services Appropriations ; Children, Families, and Elder Affairs ; Storms ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Thrasher ; Rich

Background Screening; Providing that mental health personnel working in a facility licensed under ch. 395, F.S., who work on an intermittent basis for less than 15 hours per week of direct, face-to-face contact with patients are exempt from the fingerprinting and screening requirements under certain conditions; requiring background screening and rescreening of certain persons having contact with vulnerable persons; authorizing an employer to hire an employee to a position that otherwise requires background screening before the completion of the screening process for the purpose of training the employee; prohibiting the employee from having direct contact with vulnerable persons until the screening process is complete, etc.
