       The Committee on Community Affairs (Simpson) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete everything after the enacting clause
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 1. Subsection (16) is added to section 633.0215,
    6  Florida Statutes, to read:
    7         633.0215 Florida Fire Prevention Code.—
    8         (16)(a)Fire flow requirements may be decreased by the
    9  authority that has jurisdiction for isolated buildings or a
   10  group of buildings in rural areas or small communities, as
   11  defined in the Florida Fire Prevention Code, if that authority
   12  determines that the development of full fire flow requirements
   13  is impractical.
   14         (b) For one-story or two-story structures that are less
   15  than 10,000 square feet, whose occupancy is defined in the
   16  Florida Building Code and the Florida Fire Prevention Code as
   17  business or mercantile, a fire official shall enforce the wall
   18  fire-rating provisions for occupancy separation as defined in
   19  the Florida Building Code.
   20         (c) A farming or ranching structure, as part of an
   21  operation that employs fewer than 25 full-time equivalent
   22  workers, calculated as cumulative hours worked divided by 40
   23  hours, which is not used by the public for direct sales or as an
   24  educational outreach facility, is exempt from the Florida Fire
   25  Prevention Code, including the national codes and Life Safety
   26  Code incorporated by reference. This paragraph does not include
   27  structures used for residential or assembly occupancies, as
   28  defined in the Florida Fire Prevention Code.
   29         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.

   36                        A bill to be entitled                      
   37         An act relating to the Florida Fire Prevention Code;
   38  amending s. 633.0215, F.S.; providing that certain authorities
   39  in rural areas or small communities may decrease fire flow
   40  requirements; providing that fire officials shall enforce
   41  Florida Building Code provisions for occupancy separation for
   42  certain structures with certain occupancies; exempting certain
   43  farming and ranching structures from the code; providing an
   44  effective date.
