As used in this paragraph, the term “in the act of 6 complying with a mandatory evacuation order” means any of the 7 following actions by a person within the 24 hours after the 8 issuance of a mandatory evacuation order: 9 a. Leaving his or her residence and traveling to and 10 reaching the geographical limits of the area under mandatory 11 evacuation where the person reasonably and safely has the 12 ability to properly store the transported weapon or firearm 13 pursuant to this chapter; or 14 b. Leaving his or her residence and traveling to and 15 reaching a place within the geographical limits of the mandatory 16 evacuation area where the person reasonably and safely has the 17 ability to properly store the transported weapon or firearm 18 pursuant to this chapter. 19 2. This paragraph does not preempt any other provision of 20 law related to possession or transport of a weapon or firearm in 21 chapter 252, this chapter, or chapter 870, or possession of a 22 firearm in a public shelter. 23 24 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 25 And the title is amended as follows: 26 Delete line 7 27 and insert: 28 during a declared state of emergency; defining the 29 term “in the act of complying with a mandatory 30 evacuation order”; providing applicability; providing 31 an
