House Comm: RCS . 04/06/2014 . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— (Grimsley) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (915192) 2 3 Delete lines 221 - 236 4 and insert: 5 (f) Access to sufficient supports and services for 6 medically complex children to allow them to remain in the least 7 restrictive and most nurturing environment, which includes 8 sufficient services in an amount and scope comparable to those 9 services the child would receive in out-of-home care placement. 10 (4) SERVICES FOR MEDICALLY COMPLEX CHILDREN.—The department 11 shall maintain a program of family-centered services and 12 supports for medically complex children. The purpose of the 13 program is to prevent abuse and neglect of medically complex 14 children while enhancing the capacity of families to provide for 15 their children’s needs. Program services must include outreach, 16 early intervention, and the provision of other supports and 17 services to meet the child’s needs. The department shall 18 collaborate with all relevant state and local agencies to 19 provide needed services.
