The Office of Early Learning shall conduct a 2 6 year pilot project to study the impact of assessing the early 7 literacy skills of Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program 8 participants who are English Language Learners, in both English 9 and Spanish. The assessments must include, at a minimum, the 10 first administration of the Florida Assessments for Instruction 11 in Reading in kindergarten and an appropriate alternative 12 assessment in Spanish. The study must include a review of the 13 kindergarten screening results for 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 14 program participants and their subsequent Florida Comprehensive 15 Assessment Test scores.
