    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to time limitations; amending s.
    3         775.15, F.S.; eliminating time limitations to the
    4         prosecution of specified criminal offenses relating to
    5         lewd or lascivious battery or molestation if the
    6         victim was younger than 16 years of age at the time of
    7         the offense; specifying an exception; providing
    8         applicability; providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Subsection (18) is added to section 775.15,
   13  Florida Statutes, to read:
   14         775.15 Time limitations; general time limitations;
   15  exceptions.—
   16         (18)(a)If the offense is a violation of s. 800.04(4) or
   17  (5) and the victim was younger than 16 years of age at the time
   18  the offense was committed, a prosecution of the offense may be
   19  commenced at any time. This paragraph does not apply if, at the
   20  time of the offense, the offender is less than 18 years of age
   21  and the offender is no more than 4 years older than the victim.
   22         (b) Paragraph (a) applies to any offense committed on or
   23  after October 1, 2014.
   24         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2014.
