       Senator Bean moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 2694 and 2695
    4  insert:
    5         Section 48. Subsection (2) of section 468.1665, Florida
    6  Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         468.1665 Board of Nursing Home Administrators; membership;
    8  appointment; terms.—
    9         (2) Effective January 1, 2015, four Three members of the
   10  board must be licensed nursing home administrators. One member
   11  Two members of the board must be a health care practitioner
   12  practitioners. The remaining two members of the board must be
   13  laypersons who are not, and have never been, nursing home
   14  administrators or members of any health care profession or
   15  occupation. At least one member of the board must be 60 years of
   16  age or older. The Governor may reappoint members in order to
   17  comply with this requirement by January 1, 2015.
   18         Section 49. Subsection (2) of section 468.1695, Florida
   19  Statutes, is amended to read:
   20         468.1695 Licensure by examination.—
   21         (2) The department shall examine each applicant who the
   22  board certifies has completed the application form and remitted
   23  an examination fee set by the board not to exceed $250 and who:
   24         (a)1. Holds a baccalaureate or master’s degree from an
   25  accredited college or university and majored in health care
   26  administration, health services administration, or an equivalent
   27  major, or has credit for at least 60 semester hours in subjects,
   28  as prescribed by rule of the board, which prepare the applicant
   29  for total management of a nursing home; and
   30         2. Has fulfilled the requirements of a college-affiliated
   31  or university-affiliated internship in nursing home
   32  administration or of a 1,000-hour nursing home administrator-in
   33  training program prescribed by the board; or
   34         (b)1. Holds a baccalaureate degree from an accredited
   35  college or university; and
   36         2.a. Has fulfilled the requirements of a 2,000-hour nursing
   37  home administrator-in-training program prescribed by the board;
   38  or
   39         b. Has 1 year of management experience allowing for the
   40  application of executive duties and skills, including the
   41  staffing, budgeting, and directing of resident care, dietary,
   42  and bookkeeping departments within a skilled nursing facility,
   43  hospital, hospice, assisted living facility with a minimum of 60
   44  licensed beds, or geriatric residential treatment program and,
   45  if such experience is not in a skilled nursing facility, has
   46  fulfilled the requirements of a 1,000-hour nursing home
   47  administrator-in-training program prescribed by the board.

   51         Delete line 292
   52  and insert:
   53         home health agencies; amending s. 468.1665, F.S.;
   54         increasing the number of members of the Board of
   55         Nursing Home Administrators who must be licensed
   56         nursing home administrators and decreasing the number
   57         of members who must be health care practitioners;
   58         amending s. 468.1695, F.S.; revising the
   59         qualifications of applicants who may sit for the
   60         licensed nursing home administrator examination to
   61         include an applicant with a master’s degree in certain
   62         subjects; providing effective dates.
