    4  insert:
    5         Section 25. Section 551.015, Florida Statutes, is created
    6  to read:
    7         551.015 Employment and political activity restrictions;
    8  pari-mutuel applicants and permitholders and specified
    9  department officials.—
   10         (1) A person or entity who applies to the department for a
   11  permit to conduct pari-mutuel operations or who holds a permit
   12  to conduct such operations under this part may not make a
   13  contribution to the campaign account of an officeholder of, or a
   14  candidate for, the office of Governor, Attorney General, Chief
   15  Financial Officer, Commissioner of Agriculture, state senator,
   16  or state representative. In addition, such person or entity may
   17  not make a contribution to a political committee of which such
   18  officeholder or candidate is a member.
   19         (2)(a) As used in this subsection, the term “department
   20  officials” refers to the following positions within the
   21  department:
   22         1. A member of the Gaming Control Board.
   23         2. The chief of staff.
   24         3. The general counsel.
   25         4. A division director, deputy director, chief of auditing,
   26  chief of operations, chief of investigations, chief of slot
   27  operations, revenue program administrator, licensing
   28  administrator, administrator of the state compliance agency, or
   29  regional program administrator.
   30         (b) Department officials are prohibited from:
   31         1. Holding, or being a candidate for, public office or
   32  taking an active part in a political campaign while employed by
   33  the department.
   34         2. Holding other employment, including receiving
   35  compensation or other remuneration for speaking at or attending
   36  an event associated with the gaming or pari-mutuel industry.
   37         3. Accepting employment from or entering into a contractual
   38  relationship with an entity of the gaming or pari-mutuel
   39  industry for 4 years after termination of his or her employment
   40  with the department.

   46         Department of Gaming Control; creating s. 551.015,
   47         F.S.; prohibiting applicants and permitholders of

   49         campaign accounts and political committees; defining
   50         the term “department officials”; prohibiting specified
   51         conduct or employment by department officials;
