House . . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The Committee on Health Policy (Bean) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 21 - 31 4 and insert: 5 the agency shall assume that there is a need for one additional 6 hospice provider in that service area to promote competition. 7 When approving any such additional hospice, the agency must give 8 preference to hospice organizations that operate one or more 9 licensed hospices in Florida and whose operating entities are 10 Florida corporations registered to do business in the state. The 11 inpatient hospice care component of a hospice which is a 12 freestanding facility, or a part of a facility, which is 13 primarily engaged in providing inpatient care and related 14 services and is not licensed as a health care facility shall 15 also be required to obtain a certificate of need. Provision of 16 hospice care by any current provider of health care is a 17 significant change in service and therefore requires a 18 certificate of need for such services. 19 Section 2.
