       Senator Garcia moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete line 110
    4  and insert:
    5  60 days after receipt of a complete application. The department
    6  shall provide technical assistance to the personnel requesting
    7  an exemption from disqualification regarding the process,
    8  including, but not limited to:
    9         1. Providing, in plain language, a description of the
   10  process for requesting an exemption, instructions for completing
   11  the application to request an exemption, timeframes for
   12  responses from the department, guidance on addressing problems
   13  commonly encountered in completing the application, and contact
   14  information for individuals available to provide technical
   15  assistance.
   16         2. Within 10 days after a service provider personnel’s
   17  initial submission of an application for an exemption,
   18  conducting a preliminary review and notifying such personnel of
   19  likely deficiencies in the application.
   20         3. Advising the service provider personnel requesting an
   21  exemption that, if records from a jurisdiction are no longer
   22  available, alternative methods that such personnel may use to
   23  provide necessary information to the department.
   24         4. Contacting service provider personnel whose applications
   25  for an exemption remain incomplete 30 days after the last
   26  communication by the department to determine if the personnel
   27  need additional technical assistance or wish to withdraw their
   28  applications.

   33  and insert:
