CS/CS/CS/SB 770: Workforce Education

GENERAL BILL by Appropriations ; Innovation, Industry, and Technology ; Education ; Hutson ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Perry

Workforce Education; Requiring the Department of Education to annually publish a specified report; limiting the applicability of state apprenticeship and job-training program requirements to provisions for veterans, minority persons, and women; requiring the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to consult with the Department of Education to evaluate certain apprenticeship programs to determine potential substitutions for certain licensure requirements; encouraging district school boards to declare an “Academic Scholarship Signing Day” and “College and Career Decision Day” for specified purposes, etc.

Effective Date: Except as otherwise expressly provided in this act and except for this section, which shall take effect upon this act becoming a law, this act shall take effect July 1, 2019
