Subsection (4) of section 456.074, Florida 6 Statutes, is amended to read: 7 456.074 Certain health care practitioners; immediate 8 suspension of license.— 9(4) Upon receipt of information that a Florida-licensed10health care practitioner has defaulted on a student loan issued11or guaranteed by the state or the Federal Government, the12department shall notify the licensee by certified mail that he13or she shall be subject to immediate suspension of license14unless, within 45 days after the date of mailing, the licensee15provides proof that new payment terms have been agreed upon by16all parties to the loan. The department shall issue an emergency17order suspending the license of any licensee who, after 45 days18following the date of mailing from the department, has failed to19provide such proof. Production of such proof shall not prohibit20the department from proceeding with disciplinary action against21the licensee pursuant to s. 456.073.22 23 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 24 And the title is amended as follows: 25 Delete line 15 26 and insert: 27 report; amending s. 456.074, F.S.; removing the 28 requirement, and related provisions, that the 29 department immediately suspend the licenses of certain 30 health care practitioners for failing to provide proof 31 of new payment terms for defaulted student loans 32 within a specified timeframe; providing an effective 33 date.
