    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to affordable housing parking
    3         requirements; amending ss. 125.01055 and 166.04151,
    4         F.S.; requiring counties and municipalities,
    5         respectively, to reduce parking requirements for
    6         certain developments if they are located within a
    7         specified distance of a major transportation hub;
    8         defining the term “major transportation hub”;
    9         providing an effective date.

   11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   12  
   13         Section 1. Present paragraphs (e) through (i) of subsection
   14  (7) of section 125.01055, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as
   15  paragraphs (f) through (j), respectively, and a new paragraph
   16  (e) is added to that subsection, to read:
   17         125.01055 Affordable housing.—
   18         (7)
   19         (e) A county must reduce parking requirements for a
   20  proposed development authorized under this subsection if at
   21  least 75 percent of the residential units in the proposed
   22  development are, for a period of at least 30 years, affordable
   23  as defined in s. 420.0004; the development is located within
   24  one-half mile of a major transportation hub; and the major
   25  transportation hub is accessible from the development. For
   26  purposes of this paragraph, the term “major transportation hub”
   27  means any bus, train, or light rail station that contains mixed
   28  use development and multimodal transportation fully integrated
   29  within such station.
   30         Section 2. Present paragraphs (e) through (i) of subsection
   31  (7) of section 166.04151, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as
   32  paragraphs (f) through (j), respectively, and a new paragraph
   33  (e) is added to that subsection, to read:
   34         166.04151 Affordable housing.—

   36         (e) A municipality must reduce parking requirements for a
   37  proposed development authorized under this subsection if at

   47         Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024.
