  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the code of ethics for

  3         public officers and employees; amending s.

  4         112.313, F.S.; prohibiting members of the

  5         Legislature from receiving consulting fees from

  6         any state university or any foundation

  7         associated with a state university; providing

  8         an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12         Section 1.  Subsection (17) is added to section

13  112.313, Florida Statutes, 1996 Supplement, to read:

14         112.313  Standards of conduct for public officers,

15  employees of agencies, and local government attorneys.--

16         (17)  LEGISLATORS; PROHIBITED CONSULTING FEES.--A

17  member of the Legislature may not receive any consulting fee

18  from a state university or from a foundation associated with a

19  state university.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law.
