  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Florida Uniform Traffic

  3         Control Law; amending s. 316.003, F.S.;

  4         defining the term "inoperative traffic control

  5         signal"; providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9         Section 1.  Subsection (82) is added to section

10  316.003, Florida Statutes, to read:

11         316.003  Definitions.--The following words and phrases,

12  when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings

13  respectively ascribed to them in this section, except where

14  the context otherwise requires:

15         (82)  INOPERATIVE TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL.--A traffic

16  control signal that is not functioning or that is

17  malfunctioning by operating imperfectly or failing to operate

18  in the normal, usual manner.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

20  law.

      Defines the term "inoperative traffic control signal" to
25    mean a traffic control signal that is not functioning or
      that is malfunctioning by operating imperfectly or
26    failing to operate in the normal, usual manner for the
      purposes of the Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law.
