2 A joint resolution proposing an amendment
3 creating Section 18 of Article X of the State
4 Constitution, to prohibit partial birth
5 abortions.

7 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
8
9 That the following amendment creating Section 18 of
10 Article X of the State Constitution is agreed to and shall be
11 submitted to the electors of this state for approval or
12 rejection at the next general election or at an earlier
13 special election specifically authorized by law for that
14 purpose:

16 MISCELLANEOUS
17 SECTION 18. Partial-birth abortion prohibited.--A
18 physician may not knowingly perform a partial-birth abortion
19 unless it is necessary to save the life of a mother whose life
20 is endangered by a physical disorder, illness, or injury and
21 no other medical procedure would suffice to save her life. As
22 used in this section, the term "partial-birth abortion" means
23 a termination of pregnancy in which the physician performing
24 the termination of pregnancy partially vaginally delivers a
25 living fetus before killing the fetus and completing the
26 delivery.
27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following statement be
28 placed on the ballot:
