2 An act relating to license plates; amending ss.
3 320.08056, 320.08058, F.S.; creating a
4 Fraternal Order of Police license plate;
5 providing for the distribution of annual use
6 fees received from the sale of such plates;
7 providing an effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. Paragraph (s) is added to subsection (4) of
12 section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, 1996 Supplement, to read:
13 320.08056 Specialty license plates.--
14 (4) The following license plate annual use fees shall
15 be collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:
16 (s) Fraternal Order of Police license plate, $15.
17 Section 2. Subsection (19) is added to section
18 320.08058, Florida Statutes, 1996 Supplement, to read:
19 320.08058 Specialty license plates.--
20 (19) FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LICENSE PLATES.--
21 (a) The department shall develop a Fraternal Order of
22 Police license plate as provided in this section. The word
23 "Florida" must appear at the top of the plate, the words
24 "Fraternal Order of Police" must appear at the bottom of the
25 plate and a shield with the Fraternal Order of Police logo
26 must appear to the left of the numerals.
27 (b) The annual use fees shall be distributed to the
28 Criminal Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund in the
29 Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which shall use the
30 fees to provide additional training to law enforcement
31 officers and correctional officers in this state.

1 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 1997.
