4 WHEREAS, most families in Florida own life, health, and
5 property/casualty insurance as the primary forms of personal
6 financial protection, and
7 WHEREAS, insurance renders a great service by carrying
8 policyholder dollars back to our communities, where they aid
9 all segments of the economy, and
10 WHEREAS, insurance underwriting, performed by agents,
11 is the process of identifying risks and offering solutions
12 that protect and enhance the financial lives of families,
13 individuals, and businesses using life, health, and
14 property/casualty insurance and other closely related
15 financial products, and
16 WHEREAS, the licensed, professional insurance agent
17 helps families, individuals, and businesses find the insurance
18 products that best fit their needs, thereby providing a
19 valuable service to society, and
20 WHEREAS, all persons can benefit by professional
21 financial advice and informed decisions about life, health,
22 and property/casualty insurance, and
23 WHEREAS, adherence by agents to a professional code of
24 ethics emphasizing the highest standards of conduct and
25 service to consumers is essential in protecting the citizens
26 of Florida, and
27 WHEREAS, the Florida Association of Life Underwriters
28 is sponsoring a program to inform the public of the importance
29 of insurance, the services of insurance agents, and the varied
30 aspects of insurance, NOW, THEREFORE,

3 That the week of March 9-13, 1998 is recognized by the
4 Florida Senate as Insurance Week in Florida.
