  2         An act relating to Gilchrist County; amending

  3         chapter 59-1308, Laws of Florida, as amended,

  4         relating to the Gilchrist County Development

  5         Authority; increasing the number of members of

  6         the authority from 5 to 9; providing that the

  7         membership of the Gilchrist County Development

  8         Authority be the same as the membership of the

  9         Gilchrist County Industrial Development

10         Authority and that the Gilchrist County

11         Development Authority and the Gilchrist County

12         Industrial Development Authority operate as one

13         authority; providing an effective date.

15  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

17         Section 1.  Section 4 of chapter 59-1308, Laws of

18  Florida, as amended by chapter 81-382, Laws of Florida, is

19  amended to read:

20         Section 4.  Membership, appointment, term of

21  office.--The authority shall be composed of nine five members

22  each of whom shall be a freeholder and a qualified elector of

23  the county and. Members of the authority, subsequent to the

24  original members hereinafter named, shall be appointed by the

25  board of county commissioners from the county at large. The

26  membership of the Gilchrist County Development Authority shall

27  be the same as the members on the Gilchrist County Industrial

28  Development Authority and the two authorities shall operate as

29  one body. Initial appointments shall be as follows:  Two

30  members shall be appointed for 4-year terms; one member shall

31  be appointed for a 3-year term; one member shall be appointed

  1  for a 2-year term; and one member shall be appointed for a

  2  1-year term. All subsequent appointments shall be for 4-year

  3  terms.

  4         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

  5  law.
