ENROLLED 1997 Legislature HB 2003 1 2 An act relating to Santa Rosa County; amending 3 chapter 79-561, Laws of Florida, as amended; 4 revising provisions relating to the Civil 5 Service System for certain employees of Santa 6 Rosa County; providing for the appointment of 7 the fifth member to the board; providing for 8 transfers within the Civil Service System; 9 providing an effective date. 10 11 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 12 13 Section 1. Subsection (2) of section 5, paragraph (d) 14 of subsection (3) of section 16, and section 21 of chapter 15 79-561, Laws of Florida, as amended, are amended to read: 16 Section 5. Existing board to assume authority; 17 election or appointment date.-- 18 (2) Elections or appointments shall be held or made on 19 the last Tuesday in May, with the exception of the appointment 20 of the fifth member of the board, which will be made at the 21 next meeting. The board members shall take office at the next 22 meeting of the board. The oath of office shall be 23 administered to each of the board members by the clerk of 24 circuit and county courts. 25 Section 16. Rules for classified service; posting of 26 rules.-- 27 (3) The rules or regulations, among other things, 28 shall provide: 29 (d) For transfer within the Civil Service System. Transfers.-- 4 (1) IN-CLASS TRANSFER.--The transfer of a permanent 5 employee from one appointing authority to another appointing 6 authority in the same class of position may be permitted upon 7 2 weeks' notice, with approval of the receiving authority 8 only. 9 (2) IN-RANGE TRANSFERS.--The transfer of a permanent 10 employee from one appointing authority to another appointing 11 authority in a different class of position in the same or a 12 lower pay grade may be permitted, upon 2 weeks' notice, 13 provided the employee meets the minimum qualification 14 requirements for the new assignment as documented by the board 15 in accordance with the examining plan for such class of 16 position and provided the receiving authority approves the 17 action. 18 Section 2.
