  2         An act relating to educational finance;

  3         creating s. 236.08105, F.S.; requiring an

  4         advance distribution of Florida Education

  5         Finance Program funds under certain

  6         circumstances; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  Section 236.08105, Florida Statutes, is

11  created to read:

12         236.08105  Distribution of funds in first

13  quarter.--Upon the request of any school district whose net

14  state FEFP funding is less than 60 percent of its gross state

15  and local FEFP funding, the Department of Education shall

16  distribute to that school district in the first quarter of the

17  fiscal year an amount from the funds appropriated for the FEFP

18  in the General Appropriations Act up to a maximum of 15

19  percent of that school district's gross state and local FEFP

20  funding or that school district's net state FEFP funding,

21  whichever is less.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1997.
