9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section
12 106.07, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
13 106.07 Reports; certification and filing.--
14 (2)(a) All reports required of a candidate by this
15 section shall be filed with the officer before whom the
16 candidate is required by law to qualify. All candidates who
17 file with the Department of State shall file the original and
18 one copy of their reports. In addition, a copy of each report
19 for candidates for other than statewide office who qualify
20 with the Department of State shall be furnished to filed with
21 the supervisor of elections for each in the county any portion
22 of which lies within the jurisdiction of the office for which
23 where the candidate seeks election resides. Reports shall be
24 filed not later than 5 p.m. of the day designated; however,
25 any report postmarked by the United States Postal Service no
26 later than midnight of the day designated shall be deemed to
27 have been filed in a timely manner. A certificate of mailing
28 obtained from and dated by the United States Postal Service at
29 the time of mailing, or a receipt from an established courier
30 company, which bears a date on or before the date on which the
31 report is due, shall be proof of mailing in a timely manner.

1 Reports shall contain information of all previously unreported
2 contributions received and expenditures made as of the
3 preceding Friday, except that the report filed on the Friday
4 immediately preceding the election shall contain information
5 of all previously unreported contributions received and
6 expenditures made as of the day preceding that designated due
7 date. All such reports shall be open to public inspection.
8 Section 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 1999.

11 SENATE SUMMARY
12 Requires candidates for other than statewide office who
qualify with the Department of State to furnish copies of
13 their campaign finance reports to the supervisor of
elections of each county any portion of which is within
14 the jurisdiction of the office that the candidate seeks.
