11  Senator Diaz-Balart moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 1, line 15,

15

16  insert:

17         Section 1.  Paragraph (e) of subsection (2) of section

18  627.351, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

19         627.351  Insurance risk apportionment plans.--

20         (2)  WINDSTORM INSURANCE RISK APPORTIONMENT.--

21         (e)  Notwithstanding the provisions of subparagraph

22  (c)2. or paragraph (d), eligibility shall not be extended to

23  any area that was not eligible on March 1, 1997, except that

24  the department may act with respect to any petition on which a

25  hearing was held prior to May 9, 1997 the effective date of

26  this act. This paragraph is repealed on October 1, 1999 1998.

 6         amending s. 627.351, F.S.; continuing the

 7         prohibition on extending eligibility for

 8         coverage from the Florida Windstorm

 9         Underwriting Association to any area that was

10         not eligible on March 1, 1997; extending the

11         scheduled repeal of this prohibition;
