  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to school district performance

  3         reviews; amending s. 11.515, F.S.; requiring

  4         that preference be given to certain firms to

  5         conduct such reviews; providing an effective

  6         date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10         Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 11.515, Florida

11  Statutes, is amended to read:

12         11.515  School district performance review.--

13         (1)  Any performance review of a school district

14  pursuant to this section shall be conducted by a private firm

15  selected by the Office of Program Policy Analysis and

16  Government Accountability through a formal request for

17  proposal process. Preference must be given to firms that have

18  experience in performing school district reviews.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

20  law.
