  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the re-creation of the State

  3         Personnel System Trust Fund without

  4         modification; re-creating the State Personnel

  5         System Trust Fund; carrying forward current

  6         balances and continuing current sources and

  7         uses thereof; providing an effective date.

  8

  9         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

10  the State Personnel System Trust Fund, which is otherwise

11  scheduled to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate,

12  and

13         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the State

14  Personnel System Trust Fund before its scheduled termination

15  date and has found that it continues to meet an important

16  public purpose, and

17         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

18  policy concerning the State Personnel System Trust Fund sets

19  adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

20

21  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

22

23         Section 1.  The State Personnel System Trust Fund,

24  which was created within the Department of Management Services

25  and which is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f),

26  Article III of the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is

27  hereby re-created.

28         Section 2.  All current balances of the State Personnel

29  System Trust Fund are carried forward, and all current sources

30  and uses of the trust fund are continued.

  1         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  2  2000.
