1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to trust administration;
3 amending s. 737.625, F.S.; prohibiting the
4 beneficiary of a trust who participates in
5 procuring the death of the grantor from
6 receiving property or other benefits by reason
7 of the victim's death; providing an effective
8 date.

10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12 Section 1. Section 737.625, Florida Statutes, is
13 amended to read:
14 737.625 Killer not entitled to receive property or
15 other benefits by reason of victim's death.--A beneficiary of
16 a trust who unlawfully kills or participates in procuring the
17 death of the grantor or another person upon whose death such
18 beneficiary's interest depends, shall not be entitled to any
19 trust interest dependent upon the victim's death, and such
20 interest shall devolve as though the killer or the beneficiary
21 who participated in procuring the death of the grantor or
22 other person had predeceased the victim.
23 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
24 law.

Provides, with respect to trust administration, that a
29 beneficiary of a trust who participates in procuring the
death of the grantor or another person upon whose death
30 such beneficiary's interest depends, shall not be
entitled to any trust interest dependent upon the
31 victim's death, and such interest shall devolve as though
the beneficiary had predeceased the victim.
