  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the re-creation of the

  3         Florida Crime Prevention Training Institute

  4         Revolving Trust Fund without modification;

  5         re-creating the Florida Crime Prevention

  6         Training Institute Revolving Trust Fund;

  7         carrying forward current balances and

  8         continuing current sources and uses; providing

  9         an effective date.

11         WHEREAS, the Legislature desires to extend the life of

12  the Florida Crime Prevention Training Institute Revolving

13  Trust Fund, which is otherwise scheduled to be terminated

14  pursuant to constitutional mandate, and

15         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Florida Crime

16  Prevention Training Institute Revolving Trust Fund prior to

17  its scheduled termination date and has determined that it

18  continues to meet an important public purpose, and

19         WHEREAS, the Legislature has determined that existing

20  public policy concerning the Florida Crime Prevention Training

21  Institute Revolving Trust Fund sets adequate parameters for

22  its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

24  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

25

26         Section 1.  The Florida Crime Prevention Training

27  Institute Revolving Trust Fund within the Department of Legal

28  Affairs, which was created by section 16.54, Florida Statutes,

29  and which is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f),

30  Article III of the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is

31  hereby re-created.

  1         Section 2.  All current balances of the Florida Crime

  2  Prevention Training Institute Revolving Trust Fund are hereby

  3  carried forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust

  4  fund are hereby continued.

  5         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  6  2000.

  9                          SENATE SUMMARY

10    Re-creates, without modification, the Florida Crime
      Prevention Training Institute Revolving Trust Fund within
11    the Department of Legal Affairs and carries forward its
      current balances and continues its current sources and
12    uses.
