  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the re-creation of the

  3         Criminal Justice Training Trust Fund of the

  4         Department of Corrections without modification;

  5         re-creating the Criminal Justice Training Trust

  6         Fund; carrying forward current balances and

  7         continuing current sources and uses thereof;

  8         providing an effective date.

  9

10         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

11  the Criminal Justice Training Trust Fund, which is otherwise

12  scheduled to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate,

13  and

14         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Criminal

15  Justice Training Trust Fund before its scheduled termination

16  date and has found that it continues to meet an important

17  public purpose, and

18         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

19  policy concerning the Criminal Justice Training Trust Fund

20  sets adequate parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

21

22  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

23

24         Section 1.  The Criminal Justice Training Trust Fund,

25  which was created within the Department of Corrections and

26  which is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f), Article

27  III of the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is hereby

28  re-created.

29         Section 2.  All current balances of the Criminal

30  Justice Training Trust Fund of the Department of Corrections

  1  are carried forward, and all current sources and uses of the

  2  trust fund are continued.

  3         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  4  2000.

  8    Recreates, without modification, the Criminal Justice
      Training Trust Fund within the Department of Corrections
  9    and carries forward its current balances and continues
      its current sources and uses.
