1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the re-creation of the
3 Hurricane Andrew Recovery and Rebuilding Trust
4 Fund without modification; re-creating the
5 Hurricane Andrew Recovery and Rebuilding Trust
6 Fund; carrying forward current balances and
7 continuing current sources and uses thereof;
8 providing an effective date.

10 WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of
11 the Hurricane Andrew Recovery and Rebuilding Trust Fund, which
12 is otherwise scheduled to be terminated pursuant to
13 constitutional mandate, and
14 WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Hurricane
15 Andrew Recovery and Rebuilding Trust Fund before its scheduled
16 termination date and has found that it continues to meet an
17 important public purpose, and
18 WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public
19 policy concerning the Hurricane Andrew Recovery and Rebuilding
20 Trust Fund sets adequate parameters for its use, NOW,
21 THEREFORE,

23 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

25 Section 1. The Hurricane Andrew Recovery and
26 Rebuilding Trust Fund within the Department of Corrections,
27 which is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f), Article
28 III of the State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is
29 re-created.
30 Section 2. All current balances of the Hurricane
31 Andrew Recovery and Rebuilding Trust Fund are carried forward,

1 and all current sources and uses of the trust fund are
2 continued.
3 Section 3. This act shall take effect November 4,
4 2000.

7 SENATE SUMMARY
8 Recreates, without modification, the Hurricane Andrew
Recovery and Rebuilding Trust Fund within the Department
9 of Corrections and carries forward its current balances
and continues its current sources and uses.
