  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the re-creation of the State

  3         Attorney's Forfeiture and Investigative Support

  4         Trust Fund without modification; re-creating

  5         the State Attorney's Forfeiture and

  6         Investigative Support Trust Fund; carrying

  7         forward current balances and continuing current

  8         sources and uses; providing an effective date.

  9

10         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

11  the State Attorney's Forfeiture and Investigative Support

12  Trust Fund, which is otherwise scheduled to be terminated

13  pursuant to constitutional mandate, and

14         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the State

15  Attorney's Forfeiture and Investigative Support Trust Fund

16  before its scheduled termination date and has found that it

17  continues to meet an important public purpose, and

18         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

19  policy concerning the State Attorney's Forfeiture and

20  Investigative Support Trust Fund sets adequate parameters for

21  its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

23  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24

25         Section 1.  The State Attorney's Forfeiture and

26  Investigative Support Trust Fund within the justice

27  administration budget entities, which was created by section

28  27.3451, Florida Statutes, and which is to be terminated

29  pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State

30  Constitution on November 4, 2000, is hereby re-created.

  1         Section 2.  All current balances of the State

  2  Attorney's Forfeiture and Investigative Support Trust Fund are

  3  hereby carried forward and all current sources and uses of the

  4  trust fund are hereby continued.

  5         Section 3.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  6  2000.

  9                          SENATE SUMMARY

10    Re-creates, without modification, the State Attorney's
      Forfeiture and Investigative Support Trust Fund within
11    the justice administration budget entities and carries
      forward its current balances and continues its current
12    sources and uses.
