1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the re-creation of the
3 Criminal Justice Standards and Training Trust
4 Fund without modification; re-creating the
5 Criminal Justice Training Trust Fund; carrying
6 forward current balances and continuing current
7 sources and uses thereof; providing an
8 effective date.

10 WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of
11 the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund, which
12 is otherwise scheduled to be terminated pursuant to
13 constitutional mandate, and
14 WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Criminal
15 Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund before its scheduled
16 termination date and has found that it continues to meet an
17 important public purpose, and
18 WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public
19 policy concerning the Criminal Justice Standards and Training
20 Trust Fund sets adequate parameters for its use, NOW,
21 THEREFORE,

23 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

25 Section 1. The Criminal Justice Standards and Training
26 Trust Fund within the Department of Law Enforcement, which was
27 created by section 943.25, Florida Statutes, and which is to
28 be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the
29 State Constitution on November 4, 2000, is re-created.
30 Section 2. All current balances of the Criminal
31 Justice Standards and Training Trust Fund are carried forward,

1 and all current sources and uses of the trust fund are
2 continued.
3 Section 3. This act shall take effect November 4,
4 2000.

7 SENATE SUMMARY
8 Re-creates, without modification, the Criminal Justice
Standards and Training Trust Fund within the Department
9 of Law Enforcement and carries forward its current
balances and continues its current sources and uses.
