1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the re-creation of the
3 Operating Trust Fund of the Department of Law
4 Enforcement without modification; re-creating
5 the Operating Trust Fund; carrying forward
6 current balances and continuing current sources
7 and uses thereof; providing an effective date.

9 WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of
10 the Operating Trust Fund, which is otherwise scheduled to be
11 terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate, and
12 WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the Operating
13 Trust Fund before its scheduled termination date and has found
14 that it continues to meet an important public purpose, and
15 WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public
16 policy concerning the Operating Trust Fund sets adequate
17 parameters for its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

19 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
20
21 Section 1. The Operating Trust Fund, which was created
22 within the Department of Law Enforcement and which is to be
23 terminated pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State
24 Constitution on November 4, 2000, is hereby re-created.
25 Section 2. All current balances of the Operating Trust
26 Fund of the Department of Law Enforcement are carried forward,
27 and all current sources and uses of the trust fund are
28 continued.
29 Section 3. This act shall take effect November 4,
30 2000.
