  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act re-creating the Juvenile Crime

  3         Prevention/Early Intervention Trust Fund within

  4         the Department of Juvenile Justice without

  5         modification; carrying forward current balances

  6         and continuing current sources and uses;

  7         providing an effective date.

  8

  9         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

10  the Juvenile Crime Prevention/Early Intervention Trust Fund

11  within the Department of Juvenile Justice, which is otherwise

12  scheduled to be terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate,

13  and

14         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund

15  prior to its scheduled termination date and has found that it

16  continues to meet an important public purpose, and

17         WHEREAS, the Legislature finds that existing public

18  policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for

19  its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

21  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

22

23         Section 1.  (1)  The Juvenile Crime Prevention/Early

24  Intervention Trust Fund, which was created within the

25  Department of Juvenile Justice and which is to be terminated

26  pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State

27  Constitution on November 4, 2000, is re-created.

28         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

29  forward and all current sources and uses of the trust fund are

30  continued.

  1         Section 2.  This act shall take effect November 4,

  2  2000.
