11  Senator Rossin moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 9, between lines 18 and 19,

15

16  insert:

17         Section 11.  In order to implement Specific

18  Appropriation 589 of the 1998-1999 General Appropriations Act,

19  the Correctional Privatization Commission and the Department

20  of Juvenile Justice may expend appropriated funds to assist in

21  defraying the costs of impacts that are incurred by a

22  municipality or county and associated with opening and

23  operating a facility under the authority of the Correctional

24  Privatization Commission or a facility under the authority of

25  the Department of Juvenile Justice which is located within

26  that municipality or county. The amount that is to be paid

27  under this section for any facility may not exceed 1 percent

28  of the facility construction cost, less building impact fees

29  imposed by the municipality, or by the county if the facility

30  is located in the unincorporated portion of the county. This

31  section expires July 1, 1999.
