  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the Excellent Teaching

  3         Program Trust Fund; creating the fund;

  4         providing a source of funds; providing purpose;

  5         providing for future review and termination or

  6         re-creation of the fund; providing a contingent

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  The Excellent Teaching Program Trust Fund

12  is created to be administered by the Department of Education.

13  Funds must be credited to the trust fund as provided in SB

14  2156 or similar legislation, to be used for the purposes set

15  forth therein.

16         Section 2.  Pursuant to the provisions of section

17  19(f)(2), Article III of the State Constitution, the Excellent

18  Teaching Program Trust Fund shall, unless terminated sooner,

19  be terminated on July 1, 2002. Prior to its scheduled

20  termination, the trust fund shall be reviewed as provided in

21  section 215.3206(1) and (2), Florida Statutes.

22         Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1998, if

23  SB 2156 or similar legislation is adopted in the same

24  legislative session or an extension thereof.
